The tin whistle is a relatively easy instrument to learn so is ideal for first time music students. Typically a student will be able to play their first tune after two or three lessons. Children adapt and learn quickly in a relaxed and fun atmosphere, this builds enthusiasm and can lead to preparation for competitions if the student desires. Students may just wish to learn a few tunes or advance to participation in Comhaltas Competitions. Lessons give your child confidence while also teaching them about their Irish traditions and heritage. All levels are catered for in a structured classroom style. Private tuition gives children an extra sense of achievement as their introduction to musical performance improves self-assurance, posture, breathing and ornamentation. |

I am a teacher of the Tin whistle and Flute and have been playing and performing for many years. I also provide button accordion lessons. I teach at Ardagh Comhaltas, schools and various venues in the West Limerick area and also offer private or group lessons. As an All Ireland Champion and a member of Comhaltas Ceoiltoiri Eireann I have gained substantial experience in the performance and teaching of traditional Irish music. In addition to teaching I perform in bands and have toured in the USA and the UK.
